Michael Schmachtenberger is a freelance artist specializing in abstract painting and mixed media. In his work, he combines emotional expressiveness with dynamic compositions and an intuitive visual language. A central element of his art is the impact of color as a vehicle for mood, movement, and inner perception.

From 2010 to 2012, he completed formal artistic training at an art academy, during which time he deepened his practical skills in various painting and design techniques. Concurrently, he gained creative experience in the field of applied arts and craftsmanship—including through a collaboration with a jewelry studio in Boulder, Colorado.

Since 2015, Michael Schmachtenberger has been working on independent and commissioned art projects under the name "Kontraste In Moll" (Contrasts in Minor). His works emerge through an open, intuitive process, navigating the space between abstraction, emotional resonance, and experimental materiality. In addition to traditional painting, he also works with mixed media and site-specific installations.

His work aims to evoke emotional depth, reflection, and personal associations in the viewer. Through multi-layered color palettes and dynamic textures, he creates visual spaces that render visible themes of transformation, tension, and inner evolution.
